Biblical Basis
What is the purpose of the Bible? Does the Bible conflict with science?

The Bible answers questions of faith. It is not a scientific work and whenever people try to use as a science text, they jump to wrong conclusions. For more discussion about the intersections of faith and science, visit the web site of the American Scientific Affiliation: a fellowship of men and women in science.

Why am I here? Where did the universe come into being? Genesis Chapter 1 describes the creation. While science proposes theories about creation, one can always ask about the power behind the "big bang" and other creation-related theories. God is the power behind the beginning of the universe. The language of Genesis speeaks to the creative power of God and God's relationship with the creation. God declares creation as "good" multiple times in the Genesis I creation story.
